A 9-Year-Old with Left Foot Deformity Treated with Corrective Surgery

Recently, a 9-year-old child along with his parents visited Dr. Ratnav Ratan, a highly experienced orthopedic doctor in Gurgaon with a deformity in the left foot.

Background

A 9-year-old boy had a left foot deformity that had occurred during birth. During the child’s birth, this deformity was regarded as clubfoot and treated with plasters. However, the complete correction was not achieved with this form of treatment.

Diagnosis

The child was facing an obvious deformity in the left foot at 9 years of age. He was unable to walk or run without pain. The child was also having difficulty in wearing shoes. Dr. Ratnav Ratan diagnosed left foot deformity and concluded that the child required a corrective surgery.

Management

After careful clinical evaluation, he was taken up for a corrective surgery and tendon transfer. A complete correction was achieved on the table. The child was able to walk and run normally after 2 months of surgery.
